![]() We plan to become more active as a business on community forums such as this! In the meantime, I can address all those questions. These don't look to be custom for a particular Outback, but rather they appear to be a generally useful shape which would work in lots of SUV type vehicles with a center console between the front seats. Having something that's feasible to field repair if it leaks is important to me, not sure how the Deep Sleep would do in that regard. In colder weather or for a bit more comfort in the car I just put a closed cell foam pad and/or wool blanket underneath. Primitive car camping is great but I also like to backpack so I use the same Therm a Rest mattress for that and for sleeping in our SUV (not Subaru). I'm 6'4" so my ideal pad size is at least 78" long. The 4Runner marketed one looks identical in shape and appears to be 72" so maybe that's what they are.Īgreed about the width too 25" wide minimum for me, although the tapered shape looks like at least in the torso / shoulder area it's wider. I couldn't find a length spec either odd omission for such basic information. I can heartedly recommend a Hest mat if you’re planning to camp alone and don’t mind their cost.Ĭlick to expand. This thread is the OP's only post so we may not hear a follow up, but I'm curious if got one of these. Hest also has a 25” wide mat that I may buy at some point. I also have a Hest mat that I had for truck camping, but it’s 30” wide, and to wide for the Subaru, together with my cooler and other items I‘ll have in it. I’m presently using my Thermarest self inflating mat which is 25” wide x 72” long, and that’s fine for me. I also have recently purchased a new Wilderness and am setting it up for camping as well, but I’ll be the only person camping in it. I can heartedly recommend a Hest mat if you’re planning to camp alone and don’t mind their cost. I also have a Hest mat that I had for truck camping, but it’s 30” wide, and too wide for the Subaru, together with my cooler and other items I‘ll have in it. However, if you’re planning on using 2 mats side by side that’d probably be OK, and you couldn’t fit 2 larger mats side by side in there. For me, a 21” wide mat is too narrow if I’m only using a single mat. ![]() Also, how long is the Solo mat? I saw the width, but not the length on their website. One of my questions on this Solo mat is does the memory foam remain soft in cold weather? Some memory foam often gets hard in the cold. Our deepsleep camping products for other off-road vehicles can be found at: EXPLORE COMFORTABLY.I’d want to have the right to return them AFTER I’d opened the package, and perhaps used it. We are proud to bring you 'deepsleep' for Jeeps. deepsleep became the first company to design and produce an air mattress contoured for an SUV. So, we decided to make one! After 4 generations of prototypes and a lot of hard work, our product was funded by the Jeeping community on Kickstarter. We tried alternative methods, but couldn't quite find a comfortable way to sleep in our Jeep. We liked the concept of sleeping in the vehicle, but we found there were no good options available for car camping yet at that time. We basically had a big mattress taco, and kept rolling into each other with our regular air mattress which didn't really fit. ![]() we'll just throw our air mattress back there. While shopping for a new tent we thought, "we just spent good money on a Jeep, why not just sleep in it?. We enjoyed day-trip adventures, and off-road weekend camping. One night we burned a hole in our camping tent (embarrassing story). Our Journey to creating "deepsleep" began in early 2016 when we purchased our first Jeep. Does anyone actually read the "about us" page? Well if you are.
